On February 15 of 2014, while the nation was on standby for a verdict in the shooting death of Jordan Davis by Michael Dunn, another murder case was unfolding. A teenage retaliation prank turned into murder when Willie Noble opened fire on a vehicle of seven teenagers on a residential street in Little Rock, Arkansas. The teens decided to throw toilet paper, eggs, leaves, and mayonnaise on a car in retaliation for a previous prank, but Willie Noble opened fire on their vehicle as the teens drove away. In a panic, the teens pulled into a Kum & Go gas station to get help.

According to Detective Mike King, "The victim's mother stated that her daughter had mentioned earlier that evening that as they were driving through the neighborhood, they noticed a blue van parked in front of the house and saw three white males dressed up as clowns. And they were holding a gun."

The gunshots fired hit one of the teens in the arm; however, Adrian was shot in the head. Adrian was never responsive and was transported to Children's Hospital, where she died. It is devastating to think a prank could lead to something as violent and final as murder. In dedication to Adrian, family and friends gathered to share loving words and stories then released balloons in memory of the cheerleader, daughter, and friend they will miss dearly.

Willie Noble of Little Rock, Arkansas, was arrested for the shooting death of 15-year-old Adrian Broadway. Noble, 37, turned himself into Little Rock police and was booked into the Pulaski County jail on a $500,000 bond Saturday morning.

Noble told police he was defending his family when he opened fire on the car, according to court documents.

According to authorities, Noble allegedly fired numerous rounds out of his window at the teens' vehicle after they drove away. Detectives said they recovered bullet fragments from the scene that were lodged in the car's side door. Police say Noble told them his home had been egged, toilet-papered, and had leaves thrown on it during the week. According to police documents, "Noble said he was 'merely defending my home from potential intruders' and that he was 'trying to be a good Samaritan.'"

Noble is currently jailed in Little Rock, Arkansas, on charges of capital murder and aggravated assault. [Adrian's Mother Sharon] Broadway said she doesn't believe Noble was trying to defend his home. She said she didn't know who he was, but her daughter knew him as an older man she had never seen before.

One of the bullets fired from Willie Noble's gun hit Adrian in the head, killing her.
